HSI supports Cancer Concern Association through a donation to mark the 18th anniversary of HSI Life insurance.
The donation worth SCR 28,000 coincides with the October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign that raises awareness about the impact of breast cancer.
“As Life insurance is a financial product focusing on people’s wellbeing, we felt that Cancer Concern Association was a worthy cause as it focuses on people in their time of need and also aligns with our CSR values,” said HSI Life manager Michelle Lafortune.
“The association continues to provide cancer victims and their loved ones with various support and assistance that help them get through these difficult moments. Likewise, at HSI we believe it’s important to give back and touch the lives of the people in the community where we operate” said Ms Lafortune.
Ms Lafortune handed over the donation to a representative of the Cancer Concern Association, Mr Brian Orr, during a brief ceremony at the HSI Kingsgate office on Tuesday 19th October 2021.
On his part Mr Orr thanked HSI Life for the generous donation, which he said would contribute positively towards their programs and services.
Over the years HSI has partnered with the Cancer Concern Association to assist several patients. In view that Corporate Social Responsibility is no longer mandated by law, Mr Orr encouraged HSI and other organisations that are able to continue to be a force for good and make a difference in their communities.
