Top performers of an inter-school competition have been awarded by H Savy Insurance for their project to improve awareness on the effects of radiation exposure in the workplace.
It was HSI representative Ms Shafira Charlette alongside other sponsors, who presented the prizes to the project winners in a ceremony which took place at the L’Escale Resort Marina.
The Ministry of Employment organised the competition as part of national efforts to enhance radiation safety and security in the workplace. The competition formed part of events planned to commemorate the Annual Safety Week which was celebrated from 13th to 17th November.
The purpose of the competition was to allow the students to demonstrate their understanding of the topic and present their project through an exhibition.
Their projects highlighted a range of safety measures applicable in fields such as medical and industrial sectors, while also inspiring students to pursue careers in these areas.
