This was through a donation of various hygiene products and stationaries to the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development.
The General Manager of H Savy Insurance Mr Lambert Woodcock handed over the donation to the Principal Secretary of Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary, Dr Odile de Commarmond during a small ceremony at the Mont Fleuri Secondary school on Monday 13th July 2020.
The donation worth more than 136,000 rupees falls under the HSI Corporate Social Responsibility Program.
The items, which includes liquid hand wash, wipes, hand sanitisers and stationaries will be distributed amongst all state schools at primary and secondary level, including the professional centre-School of Advance Level Studies.
The donation to the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development is also part of the activities to commemorate the 25th Anniversary Celebration of H Savy Insurance on the 17th of July.
“This year has been a challenging year of all of us and HSI wanted to do more than just celebrate,” said HSI General Manager Lambert Woodcock.
“We hope the donation will have a positive impact on the school environments and enable the different institutions to implement the essential safety measures,” said Mr Woodcock.
The principal Secretary of Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary, Dr Odile de Commarmond thanked H Savy Insurance for the donation that she says has come at an opportune time.
“The donation is very important as these items are of great demand to help us maintain a high level of hygiene as required by the Department of health,” said Dr de Commarmond.
Other than the donation of sanitary products and stationaries to the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, in view of the different measures in place due to the COVID-19 Crisis, HSI will be organising two other activities mark its 25th Anniversary on the 17th of July.
